Vintage Razor
My vintage straight edge razor says Made in Germany. However, the sheath appears to be bakelite.?
The sheath has pictures of the head and shoulders of 4 women on one side and what I think are German insignia's or symbols on the other. Does anyone have any information on this razor? Thanks.
Bakelite is a producer of formaldehyde resins, moulding compounds and epoxy resins. Based in Germany, it is mainly active in Europe. Prior to its sale to The Apollo Group , Bakelite was controlled by the Rütgers group, which is part of the RAG group.
So the fact that it's German and has a Bakelite case should come as no surprise.
You haven't given us much to go on here. Is there anything stamped on the blade? Makers name maybe?
